"Ihsa Isu Indoor Track March 2, 2019"
Meet Information – IATC Indoor Championships
2022 IATC Indoor Championships
Date: Thursday, March 10, 2022 (girls) and Friday, March 11, 2022 (boys).
Time: Small schools (1A/2A) will compete at the AM session (9:00AM – 3:00PM). Large schools (3A/4A) will compete at the PM session (3:30-9:30PM).
Site: Iowa State University's Lied Athletic Recreation Center, 518 Beach Road
Sanction: This is a sanctioned meet by the IGHSAU and IHSAA and it will count towards your season meet limitation.
More details will be available at the December clinic.
Entry Deadline: Tentatively, the entry deadline will be as late as possible. We are looking at making it the morning after the UNI Indoor/Dickinson Relays. Tuesday, March 8th at 9AM for girls and Wednesday, March 9th at 9AM for boys (NO exceptions). Entries cannot be declared without online credit card payment. More info about payment is below.
Entry Limitations: All events have an entry capacity and entries will be accepted based on performance. Schedule and field size per event is listed near the bottom of the page. Individual schools may enter up to two individuals per event (all 3 are eligible to score) and one squad per relay event per gender. Varsity Bound will be used for entries, such as the process from last year's state qualifying meets. All field event and all 60m dash & hurdle athletes will be accepted regardless of seeding.
Entry Fees: $20 per individual with a maximum of $200 per gender. Entries must be paid in full online before a team can declare its entries. No payment = not entered. Non-accepted entrants will be refunded automatically to the credit card.
There are no other refunds of entry fees. By registering your team, you understand that you are contracting a service with the IATC Indoor Championships and will be responsible for your entry fee even if you do not attend the event. Any team that no-shows the event is taking lanes away from other athletes and will subject the school to a two-year probation from any IATC event or awards.
Entry Seeding: Because the indoor season does not start until March 7th, any seed time achieved in the 2021 outdoor season is eligible. Per the discussion at the Fall IATC meeting, those 2021 seed times can be used regardless of current fitness of the athlete. These performances should automatically generate for your athletes and relays when you register on varsity bound. For incoming freshmen or move-in athletes, please use realistic estimates. If you believe that they belong in one of the fastest sections, please connect with meet management prior to the entry deadline to help the committee seed them. Otherwise, non-verified entries will be accepted to fill the field, but we will reserve the fast heats for verified times only. For those non-verified entries, please use integrity with those estimates. Enter athletes who are ready to compete as we don't want someone who is not ready to take away a lane from a more fitting athlete.
Seeding:Varsity Bound will use 2021 performances for seeding. Use 100m/100H/110H times when entering the 60m/60H and shuttle hurdle. For non-verified entries (newcomers/freshmen), enter any date and name the meet "Non-Verified"
Substitutions:Substitutions are not allowed in individual events as that circumvents the entry verification and seeding process. Instead, a wait list will be implemented to account for athletes who scratch. Please get scratches in as early as possible. There are no refunds on scratched athletes.
Scoring: The meet will be scored to 8 places (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1) in all events. In the event that three members from the same team are all in the top 8, all points earned will be awarded. There will be a championship trophy awarded at the conclusion of the meet.
Results: 2019 results are available here: 2019 Boys Results 2019 Girls Results
Awards: This section will be updated as the sponsorship with FASST is no longer in place. Individuals placing in the top three as well as relay champions will be named to the All-Indoor Team and awarded All-Indoor t-shirts on the podium after their events are completed. Awards Ceremonies will take place between heats throughout the competition. The IATC will publish the All-Indoor Team the week after the meet. Awards are sponsored by FASST Track. Additionally, at the conclusion of the meet, an outstanding performer will be named and a team trophy presentation will take place.
Concessions: This section will be updated as the event location has changed. University of Dubuque will have a concession stand available on the mezzanine level. All concession items must remain on the mezzanine level. Only water is allowed at the track level.
Outside Food & Drink:No outside food or drink is permitted in the facility. No team coolers are allowed. Water bottles are okay. There are water bottle filling stations inside Iowa State's Lied Rec Center.
Clothing Sales: The IATC plans to sell IATC Indoor Championships apparel at the event. Cash and card sales will be accepted.
Event Photos: This section will be updated as the sponsor & host site have changed. Several photos from throughout the day will be shared on the event sponsor (FASST) facebook page: www.facebook.com/BeFASST
Spectator Admission: Admission fees will be reviewed and possibly updated. Admission is $10 for ages 10 and up. Ages under 10 are admitted free.
Spectator Seating: Limited seating is available at track level and capacity will be monitored throughout the day.
Parking: Iowa State classes will be in session so on-campus parking signs will be enforced. Do not park in spaces/lots that say "reserved all hours/all days" or during the reserved hours "reserved 7am-5pm" for example. These spaces/lots and lots are regularly enforced by the ISU parking division and are subject to ticketing at owner's expense. The Lied Rec Center does have pay-by-the-hour stalls on site, but expect those to fill quickly. There is also pay parking at the Memorial Union parking ramp which is about a 10-minute walk from the Lied Rec Center. Otherwise, plan to park for free at Iowa State Center (Hilton Colliseum/CY Stephens Auditorium/tailgate lots) and walking roughly 1/2 a mile north. All buses will be expected to drop off at Lied Rec Center and then park at Iowa State Center.

Unattached athletes:
We've had prior questions regarding unattached athletes. Please follow the guidance regarding unattached athletes from the IGHSAU/IAHSAA released in their April 2018 memo. While this memo was in reference to several late March/early April weather cancellations and impact on Drake qualifying, it aligns with the event sanctions we have to host this meet. The relevant text follows: "students need to represent their school (they cannot run unattached), and the students must be accompanied by an authorized coach. A parent without a coaching authorization cannot take his/her child to a meet in order for the child to qualify for the Drake Relays."
Scratches:
Any coach with scratches should get those in as soon as possible. A preliminary set of entries/performances will be e-mailed to registered teams as soon as complete and it will be posted to this site as soon as possible after entries close. It will show alternates. It will also show the entry mark used. If a coach has any scratches, it will be greatly appreciated to notify the Entry Coordinator via e-mail as soon as possible so that the next available athlete can be invited to compete. Again, no refunds on scratched athletes and no substitutions in individual events.
Final heat sheets should be posted 24 hours in advance of the competitions.
